CRESTVIEW — A 24-year-old woman caught with two bags of methamphetamine under her mattress at the Okaloosa County Jail smiled and winked as she told officers it was “rock salt.”
A correction officer discovered the meth during a March 18 cell search, according to her Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
She was charged with possession of meth and of paraphernalia. Deputies considered the bags used to hold the meth to be paraphernalia, the report said.
She was also charged with smuggling contraband into a secure facility.
It is not known how the drugs came to be in her cell.
