CRESTVIEW — A 19-year-old Alabama man heading to Destin with a fake ID was arrested after he was pulled over for speeding and driving recklessly.
During the traffic stop, the teen presented an Alabama driver’s license with a clearly altered year of birth, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office. When confronted about it, he said the document was just “dirty” and that he actually was born in 1998.
He also said he was on his way to Destin for spring break, according to the report.
The deputy noted that it is common for people to use false identifications to buy alcohol and other items during spring break. The teen was taken into custody.
While inventorying his car, the deputy found seven 30-pack cases of Natural Light beer in the back seat and marijuana in the console.
The teen admitted the beer and marijuana were his.
He was charged with unauthorized possession of a driver’s license, underage possession of liquor and possession of marijuana, all of which are misdemeanors.
