When Boaz police were called Thursday to the Dollar General to take a report about a woman suspected of using a stolen credit card, they had no way of knowing the extent of the offense they were investigating.

They had a description of the woman, and passed it along to other officers.

Officers were called to the same store the next day, regarding the same woman. This time they found the woman — identified as Keanna Alloise Smith, 24, San Fransisco, California.

According to a news release from Boaz Deputy Police Chief Josh Gaskin, the woman was evasive in answering questions about the credit cards.

She had a lot of questions to evade: Police found about 125 credit cards and a number of gift cards in her possession.

Gaskin said police believe she used stolen information to clone credit cars and purchase gift cards to be used later.

Victims have been found in Wisconsin and Wyoming, and the investigation continues. It may be turned over to federal authorities; the U.S. Secret Service is assisting with the case.

The woman currently is charged with resisting arrest. She is expected to be transferred to the Marshall County Jail.
