Dr. David Ott shares witty musical historical insights in between performing pieces on the new Warriors Hall piano during the instrument's dedication performance in November.

David Ott performs Crestview encore

1st of Warriors Hall concert series

The Warriors Hall Piano Fund and the Okaloosa Arts Alliance-North committees present an encore performance by renowned composer, performer, author and music historian Dr. David Ott on Friday, Feb. 17. The former director of the Pensacola Symphony delighted the audience at the November 2011 dedication of the Warriors Hall piano.

The performance will be the first of what committee members hope will be a series of three concerts featuring local and regional pianists. Light refreshments from local caterers and restaurants would highlight the intermissions. Admissions would benefit the Warriors Hall Piano Fund, assuring that the hall’s new piano is maintained without any taxpayer dollars.

“It’s the perfect way to keep the romance of Valentine’s Day going a little longer,” OAA-N chairwoman Rae Schwartz said with a smile.

Dr. Ott, who recently donated a collection of his books and videos to the Crestview Public Library, will be joined by talented local pianists for an evening of music and wit. Refreshments will be provided.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students. The performance in Warriors Hall, in the Whitehurst Municipal Building at Industrial Drive and Stillwell Boulevard, begins at 7:30 p.m., allowing attendees the opportunity to take advantage of dinner at a local restaurant beforehand. SHow your concert ticket at Azteca Mexican Restaurant in the Goodwill shopping center and receive 10 percent off your dinner.
