CRESTVIEW — In a quick May 7 afternoon ceremony on the edge of the Foxwood Country Club green, CCB Community Bank added another several hundred dollars to its tally of donations for local schools.

Gifts of $200 in cash and embroidered golf towels to Davidson Middle School’s golf team brought the bank's school contributions close to $20,000, CCB city president Derek Lott said.

"Giving back to the community is part of our philosophy," Lott said. "School sponsorships is part of our program of supporting the community, along with helping non-profit organizations."

Beneficiaries include the Crestview High School band, football and tennis teams; Davidson Middle School band; Baker School baseball team; Riverside Elementary School classes; and Shoal River Middle School programs and athletics.

Davidson golf coach David Carnley said the money would help buy golf balls, team shirts and equipment for next year's season.

"They (CCB) are very generous with their giving," parent Scott Stutler said. "Every penny helps the kids."
