BAKER — Friday's Holiday Pajama Party at Baker School is ideal for parents wanting to Christmas-shop without children, or those who just want a night alone.
Pre-kindergarten through fourth-grade students may participate in the event, which kicks off at 6 p.m. Activities include making Christmas tree ornaments, ginger bread houses and other crafts, organizers said. The Baker School cross-country team is sponsoring the event.

"(Children) are invited to come — wearing their age-appropriate pajamas — (and) make holiday crafts and watch some holiday movies (including 'The Polar Express' and 'Frosty the Snowman') while eating popcorn," event organizer Sheri Brewer said.
Food and snacks will be provided, and Brewer encourages children to be on their best behavior for a special guest from the North, who has cleared his busy schedule to visit attendees.
Several cross-country team members will serve as 'reindeer leaders' for groups of children as they visit each craft station.
Brewer has served as the school's cross-country coach for the past five years. The team is coming off their most successful year in the school's history.
"We had a boys and girls team qualify for the regionals," she said.
Brewer, who is expecting another successful season next year, said funds raised from this event would go toward purchasing new uniforms and travel expenses for next season.
