Dignity Memorial Escape School presenter Michael Ellis speaks Wednesday night at Central Baptist Church.

Big turnout at Escape School

The Dignity Memorial Escape School presented Wednesday at Central Baptist Church had about 220 children and parents in attendance, the program’s largest turnout to date. The church teamed with the Crestview Police Department and Oak Lawn Funeral Home to present the program.

The presentation focused on teaching children how to get away from abductors and how to find help when needed.

In conjunction with the school, the Crestview Police Department will conduct a Child I.D. and Fingerprinting Program at the Crestview Community Center on Aug. 5, according to CPD Lt. Kent Buckner. The program will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. during the National Night Out Neighbor Watch Meeting.

The CPD will offer identification kits and fingerprinting again Sept. 13 at the Mt. Zion AME Church on McDonald St. during a Children’s Health Fair scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
