John Parrott, Military News Reporter

John Parrott is retired from a 26 year military career.  He handles our military affairs announcements, news releases, and writes feature articles about our expanding military commitment north of the Shoal River.

John grew up in S.W. Virginia and left for the U.S. Air Force after graduating high school.  He met and married his wife, who is a Crestview girl,  when they were in college. They thenspent the next 25 years traveling the world at Uncle Sam’s expense."We have two grown children, and two wonderful grandsons whom we adore, but see too little," John says.

His hobbies include reading anything by John LeCarre, John Grisham, Joseph Wambaugh, Steve Berry, and the tag  team Jefferson Bass. He loves to travel, meet new people and try new things. He also loves gourmet food and listening to classical music.
