News Update, May 7

CRESTVIEW — A man who was playing video games when his wife asked him to come to bed now faces felony charges for the ensuing altercation.

Melvin Jerome Jackson, 28, of Jillian Drive, is charged with domestic battery and false imprisonment.

His wife said he became agitated Saturday when she talked to him during his video game. She said he threw a framed picture at her, then followed her into a bedroom, throwing items around the room.

Jackson said she was the one throwing his clothes out of the room.

The two struggled over a laptop computer before the wife bit Jackson in the arm and ran toward the door. She said he blocked her way out at first, but she eventually got past him and called 911 from a neighbor's phone.

She said she was afraid he would be angry at her for having him arrested because he would get in trouble with the Air Force.
