Sisters stab, Mace man who refuses medical treatment

CRESTVIEW -- A 24-year-old Crestview woman was arrested Jan. 5 in connection with a late summer stabbing at a local bar.

During the Aug. 17 incident, police arrived at Pete Lee's Place and found the victim splashing water on his face and bleeding from a stab wound in his side. He refused medical treatment and fled the scene.

A short time later, the Crestview Police Department was dispatched to a nearby street, where they found the victim sitting in the middle of the road. Two officers and several bystanders attempted to assist the man to the ambulance, although he continued to refuse medical treatment.

He then walked over to a car, climbed into the back seat and sat down. As the car drove away, an officer noticed the rear door was open and became concerned that the injured man might be trying to get out while the car was still moving. The officer put on his lights and siren, however the car did not stop until it reached North Okaloosa Medical Center.

After he was treated, he said that there had been a big fight and one woman "cut" him, while her sister sprayed him in the face with Mace.

The woman arrested Jan. 5 was the sister who had used the Mace on the victim, according to her arrest report.
